Our recent visit to Bali surprisingly turned into a culinary hunting around those beautiful island. This island is not only have beautiful landscapes and beaches to pamper your soul but also has the best restaurants and culinary attractions I ever see in the entire world ranging from vegetarians, beautiful tropical bowls, international food from all around the world, to exotic Asian cuisine.
One of the restaurant that we admire the most is BATIK, located in main Seminyak road. This restaurant not only have a beautiful interiors but also a five star South East Asian cuisine with incredible authentic taste but presented in very modern way.
We had a very hard time to choice which dish to be denied during our visitation and we ended by ordering 4 appetizers, 3 main courses, and 2 desserts.
4 appetizers might sounds much, but believe us that all of those bites are so worthed both in the price and also taste. We ordered some Vietnamese bites including Nem Nuong and Spring Roll. Another two, we had Tahu isi Tofu and Fried Wonton which were more to Indonesian. The tofu was so big served with vegetables filling. The Nem Nuong is the best we had over all while the spring roll and wonton are normal.
Moving to main courses, we decided to order some fishes, Steamed Barramundi and Pepes Ikan with additional one Thailand Tom Yum Soup. We love it all!
We didn’t read carefully that the steamed barramundi was served with tom yum broth but it was okay for us since the tom yum was so damn tasty. Different with regular tom yum which might a bit not fresh because of using instant powder, Batik tom yum is so full of flavour but yet it didn’t too sour and spicy. It also a bit thick and you even could find some of chopped spices inside. The Pepes Ikan was also interesting dish to try since the fish covered with spices, wrap with Banana leaves, and then steamed and grilled.
Over all, our visit to BATIK Restaurant and Bar was really satisfying and definitely recommended it for your lunch or dinner in Seminyak.
